Whats For Dinner?

It’s a gloomy day here in “Sunny” California, the kind of day that makes you want to curl up under a blanket and watch movies all day.  Whenever it is cold and rainy out it puts me in the mood for warm comfort food.  I enjoy cooking but today is a very busy day for me so I don’t have a lot of time for cooking.  I have decided to put my trusty slow cooker to good use.  I am making a delicious chicken stew.  The recipe is fast and easy and o so yummy!  Here it is.

Chicken Stew

ingredients:

1 whole chicken

1 green bell pepper

half of an onion sliced

carrots

asparagus

celery

1 pack of  slow cooker chicken seasoning (found at your local grocery store in the aisle with taco seasoning)

2 cups of water

Directions:

Turn your slow cooker on to high and set the time for 4-5 hours (depending on how fast your slow cooker cooks), put in the whole chicken, add in the seasoning packet and 2 cups of water.  Let cook for 2.5 hours.  Cut up your vegetables and add them in, let cook for the remaining time.   Salt and pepper to taste.

Serve over brown rice and ENJOY!!!
